"Father" is an aspect of the man that comes alive when he's with his child, and it does so because he loves them so very much, because he enjoys their company and keeps their bond as sacred.
The story of fatherhood is not about the last page, it is about every paragraph and word. It is about how the emotions of love and protection, of fun and cherishing the moments are conveyed to one another. If you do that, if you take care of the words, the book will take care of itself.
Any father that is the hero of his child is doing it right.
In his dreams he heard the sound of his children's feet, of their laughter and impromptu song lyrics. He would be so asleep and so awake in his soul, reliving those perfect moments of fatherhood. There were days he'd recall those adventures of the nighttime and lavish them upon us over breakfast, no doubt with a few beautiful details added on the fly. And he was so handsome as he slept, that steady heart, those steady breaths, more than enough to make me fall in love with him all over again.
Too many fathers are broken by the Money-Nexus, for that becomes so much of their reality, yet the bond with their child lives in the Love-Nexus, and for those who are unaware of these things, broken relationships, shattered bonds, happen all too often.
