In traditional societies women were entitled to equitable access to food, water and shelter. If the survival of women (both comfort and security) depends upon them doing tasks that are not related to family life, then that is what they are forced to do. Whilst mothers and children absolutely benefit from having a well educated mother who works outside the home to some degree, children need time with their mother - quality time when she isn't stressed or tired from other tasks. Those who rely on the income of a male in the money-nexus must either expect full support if the relationship doesn't succeed or realise that they are risking poverty of themselves and their children.
In the money-nexus the traditional work of women entitles neither the woman nor her dependants equitable access to food, housing or other survival needs.
