The jewels of the sea are washed upon the shore, every hue ordinary-extraordinary. At first glance they appear the same, yet Sam cares to pause, to let her eyes travel over them one at a time. Each is unique in shape and size; as different as a fingerprint. Alone each is a pebble, together they are the beach, finer than any image made by oils and brush, more alive than any made still through a lens.
