In the pandemic, when so many were hurting economically, the British schools stopped asking pupils to wear uniforms. It had the added benefit of helping kids to relax in those challenging times - it's easier to wear a mask and accept other new rules when you at least feel comfortable in your own clothes.
How can we even pretend that our schools encourage divergent creativity, unique passions and talents, when children are expected to wear school uniforms; have we forgotten what "uniform" means?
