Things have a tendency to end as they begin, so if we are serious about peace and joy everlasting, then social evolution is the only way onward.
"Revolution" means "another turn of the circle," as in "to revolve." That's why it is dumb. It will always take you right back to where you began, though perhaps in a worse mess. This is why we need social evolution. Social evolution is a steady path onward to greater function in society.
When we figured out how to make a revolution work we smiled inwardly and got to work. Fast change is undone fast, the saviours become the new oppressors and the negative cycle continues like a barbed wire trap. No. We were smarter than that. Much smarter. True revolution, the kind that sticks and makes the world safe for every person on earth is more akin to evolution, after all, that is how we figured our creator works, so why not try to be more like Him? First we wrote stories, songs, cartoons and any form of fiction to communicate. Why? Because anything else would be classed as "dangerous" or "treason" or "sedition." So we joked, we spoke casually, we never let on that we were really out to save the world, though really, was that a crime in 2015? Not officially.
In the end saving the world had to be child's play and "fiction" because who arrests fiction authors? Who locks up the wonderful creators of the "Simpsons" or the always irreverent "South Park." Science and math are important, of course, but it was our God given creativity that set us free. We aren't meant to change the world over night, we are supposed to both understand and forgive the failings of our ancestors - living and dead - and move on together as one unit, one humanity, all for one and one for all, for real this time.
I’ve been waiting for, praying for, some kind of top-down change, but now I know it won’t happen that way. We’re fooling ourselves if we think it will. We’ll be watching some stupid reality show or playing computer games the moment the Earth goes past the tipping point and into an unstoppable greenhouse effect. We’ll still be being frightened by the news and placating ourselves with chemical laden junk food in pretty boxes, wrapped in plastic of course. We’ll still be chasing that lifestyle we’ve been groomed for from childhood to crave, that life equals consumption, success equals consumption. We’ll admire a system with no more morals than "rich is good" and you can do "whatever you can get away with" to accumulate more money than you can ever spend - while others starve. With no change we’ll continue to sacrifice our own children to the “daycare” system and then feel stressed when our damaged kids "act out." We won’t even stop to dwell on the fact that the number one cause of death of our minors is suicide - yes, children killing themselves. And for the record, that means our culture - the one we accept so passively - killed them. I can’t live with that, not anymore, and if you're being honest with yourself instead of swallowing the “I don’t care," " I’m too busy to care” party line, then you’ll know you can’t either.

It was more evolution than revolution, but by 2018 the world saw a cooperative movement of the likes never seen before. We'd had it backwards all along - we'd thought of ourselves as sheep and corporations as our masters, too big to change. But in a flash the people mobilized, sheep no longer. The corporations wanted our money and we didn't need most of their products. They wanted every dime plus the lint from our pockets and we told them to stick it. If they couldn't prove they were ethical, that they weren't damaging our only home, Earth, the money stayed in our pockets. Of course we bought flour, rice, eggs, the staples - but we learnt how to make tasty food from the basics again. We considered it our God given duty to scrutinize every purchase. Did we need so many plastic products? Should we buy anything destined for landfill in less than a year? Why buy children products that are destroying the planet they, their children, their grandchildren need to live on?
After that the corporations weren't the masters anymore, and that was just the start. We wanted our government back, we wanted it to protect not only our own interests but that of the environment also. We didn't need their advice, we already knew what to do: love thy neighbour, be kind to animals, don't harm the Earth, eat mostly plants, be good parents and citizens. We began to barter more and trade, the less we used the corrupt money system the more we liked it. The arts blossomed and skilled craftspeople could make a living again. Finally we could hold our heads high again, we didn't tolerate child labour and we worked to cut our own pollution to minimal levels.
