Protecting our forests, taking only what nature can afford to give and what protects forests from fires, is potentially a hugely viable ecological industry waiting for someone to kindle it. It would create thousands of outdoor jobs that bring fitness and a love of nature back to society. It's a win-win.
Once the humans protected the forest by their gathering of materials to burn and build shelter from. They took what was easy to take, never harming the giant trees nor the flora they depended upon. Nature needs us to retake this role, to use what we once did for our purposes - be that in paper or furniture manufacture. Then as we take care of our forests our forests will take care of us. We are still part of nature, our place was left vacant for our return to the fold.
