We opened the head of the totalitarians and found two distinct species. One was recoverable and the other was not. The recoverable one loved their nation and was in a bind. If they loosened their grip the coming chaos lost lives and became a threat to internal peace and external security. With assistance, they had a future as a great and peaceful nation. The other kind lacked all empathy and love. Any such statements from their lips were no more than a fig leaf, words spoken for purpose of manipulation. They had become the monster of lore, all hate, all greed, all ego... we cannot rehabilitate such a leader. Yet the abused often find it challenging to acknowledge that they are abused. The bad leader can be as a bad spouse. All we can do is pray their nation gains a new leader of at least the first kind, one who can love them and see them through into an integrated world of kindness and trust. One love. One world. Infinity cultures welcome. Diversity a strength. Noble dark is very different from evil. This is the lesson of opening these heads. This is what we learned.
The popularist is a lute, changing tune when the wind changes direction. They are an ego-addict, a verbal chameleon without underpinning values to guide and anchor. Give me a leader with integrity, with gravitas, one with an intellect able to weave logic and empathy into a solid pathway for the nation. Show me a leader well versed in the philosophy of love and what that really is... show me a good role model of adulthood. It costs to be a real leader, a hero type, and that emotional toll is what creates the aura of gravitas, somber and serious.
The drive toward variation meets the drive toward conformity for group safety in opposite directions. The relative power of these forces in the neurology of each organism and the society will determine the strength of each. Variation is favoured by safety and has the power to drive creativity and discovery. Conformity is favoured by adversity in all forms, a recipe of negative factors combined. It is, however, worthy of note, that these forces are not equal. The history of humanity is a bloody tale of genocide. Thus only the survivors are our collective ancestors. Thus the drive toward conformity is a preparation for war and is amped in power by comparison. Thus in times of fear the proper leaders must have an upper brain (PFC) capable of dominating their primitive drive and converting that amped power into solution finding over war strategy. It is a simple switch, yet all leaders must possess the ability for such.
Leaders are of true heart or where do they lead? Why would you want any destination that is not guided by love?
When the sensory fog rolls in I can still navigate. When others cannot tell true north, I can. I feel it. I can pick the path when all they see is unmarked ground. My feet come to the path as if they are magnets to iron. I stick there. I call out. I try to become the guide. The trouble is, only I can see it and they don't trust me enough to follow. Or perhaps the problem is me. Perhaps when I trust myself enough to lead they will come. I'm trying to teach them how to see it, how to sense it the same way I can. We need more leaders, more navigators of the fog. I'll keep going, keep trying, what else can I do?
