Often times as a driver, you must chose to accelerate from danger or brake, these are opposites of course, yet both possible solutions. And so we see now, with the difficulties our world faces, the same principle. We got here via the financial system locking in the benefits of colonialism, do we let that same apparatus become the solution or do we break it? Do we go backwards into a less technical age or invest in the poor, invest in the acceleration of technologies that can save the entire planet? One is revolution, the other is social evolution. Revolution is "revolving" and will lead us right back to the same mess we are in now, only worse, even though it appears more promising and more satisfying to the primitive brain. And so, if it pleases the court, I assert that social evolution is the only solid way onwards, a way in which the better off help the less well off (globally) until we reach true equality and fairness, until we can let go of the money-nexus and embrace the love-nexus.
The global monetary system was set up to lock in the benefits of colonialism, and it's still looting today; are we the guardians of each other or the "mobster's wife," wanting the mink coat and "blind" to the carnage? The truth is, we who live in the industrialised developed world - regardless of our ethnic origins - are now the benefactors of this looting masquerading as trade. We were born into it, it is the water we swim in, yet it is now time we were as fish who notice what they are swimming in.
