Grief has a way of removing you from the world and it takes a real strength to reconnect and weave yourself anew into the fabric of living, to give yourself a chance of future happiness.
Let grief flow through you as a river in mountain passes - it will erode, it will create new channels, yet the new self can arise as more beautiful than ever in time. And this, my love, is time as the rivers tell it, not the clocks. It is time that stretches unmeasured yet comes all the same one day.
There comes times in living that transform us, and all we can do is chose how we are changed. Do we rise up and accept the warrior spirit, or not? For the pain comes ready or not, the grief is absolute, the old self is burned clear away and the new self steps onwards. Be ware that this transformation hurts, that it comes at a cost no matter the path you chose. So, what I say to all who ask is - make it worth it.
When you have ridden the waves of grief you will see that you have a strong, strong heart. You will see that the pain stands as witness to the loving bond that survives the passing.
Grief comes in waves, little one, at first they are so strong you feel so swept away. They come at such random moments, replacing a feeling of normalcy with those familiar tears. Yet in time those waves lessen and let the good memories flood in instead, they allow for waves of smiles and warmth, those funny or sweet things that were said. So, ride that wave, little one, ride it in that boat called love. For heaven loves you always and heaven loves them too.
