We never did a lot of Easter eggs, but what we did get was always great quality. Perhaps we're chocolate snobs. I guess we are. We'd rather have a bit less and eat the good stuff than have piles of cheap crap.
I like my Easter eggs a bit meta - little eggs in bigger eggs. It does the trick for my childish soul.
The easter egg hunt was the event of the season and most of the village joined in. There were eggs hidden all over! Once in a while we'd even have an Easter bunny sighting. The children loved it... and in all fairness... the parents did too!
Those painted eggs are so pretty, real works of art. I love how they decorate the table at Easter time. But let's get real here - the ones we all love the most are made of chocolate and wrapped in gold foil. They are eggs you open up and there's a sweet surprise within. Call me shallow, but that's all Easter is for me. Well, that and a start to the springtime.
