"I'm confused," said David, "so in this chess-game society, how does a pawn become a star?"
"At times" said Amy, "apparently, the chess grand masters, the old masters, fingered their pawns as they played and made their moves. Words have a way of saying the unsaid. There's got to be a tipping point where coincidence is acknowledged as the historical bread-crumb trail it is - the good and the bad."
Chess is the board game that goes on in board rooms and bored brains. It has no room nor use for empathy. Go figure.
"So," said Amy, "let me get this straight. We play with pawns that can become queens, so pawns are girls? It's an interesting play on words, no? Like some horrible game of word-associations. What do men think of regarding queens? What do they like to play with? It's so gross. And the pawns line up to get slaughtered for the sake of the nobility. Yeah, well, what do you expect of an old war game."
