There comes a time when "pushing" one's ideas that could save our world becomes morally the right thing to do. And so, if you have the time, I urge you to read my book, "Nexus. A Treatise in Defence of Love as Mankind's Answer," so that we can rescue each other and our planet from the trouble of our current era. There is a link to a free version and a Kindle version from my bio (bio-link below).
To build a better world we need to consciously design a better environment for all of humanity, one in which all the choices we have are good options. What we have now is a dynamic that makes people sick and then blames them for being sick. This world of fear and coercion can be swapped for one of love and cooperation, a world that brings us all health and happiness in all our different and wonderful cultures.
To build a better world we need to understand basic human biology and the vital effects love has in building our brains and switching the expression of our genes. Love and a feeling of safety switches us into being a species capable of having a cooperative complex society that thrives instead of this mess we have.
The traditional work of mother's and women is the glue of society, providing the bed rock of mental health. Thus, in a society run with a financial system and obsessed by financial status, power and vanity, society crumbles. And so, it is not a women's issue to care properly for women, it is everyone's issue. If a woman is disadvantaged so are her kids, male and female. If a mother is disadvantaged, so is the father of her children and her parents who may be called upon for support... and her friends if her mental health suffers and she needs to reach out. Supporting women, mothers especially, is the smartest thing we can do as a society, to mend our communities and regain a sense of happiness and solidarity with one another.
Capitalism keeps its population psychologically immature, with poor impulse control and addictions. Communism encourages more maturity, but then attempts to impose the same control systems as capitalism - a recipe for disaster. We need a world where we all develop into full adults, in liberty, able to follow our passions and understanding that adulthood means being responsible for family, community, our species and the nature we are blessed to share Earth with. The world changes for the better when adults become adults and children are allowed to be children. At this time, we fear what we imagine to be true of others in the face of overwhelming evidence that most people are good, kind and peaceful. And those who are creating harm would likely be peaceful were the world to calm down - to be given a chance to live their creeds rather than their rhetoric.
Just as our bodies are one super-system, so is Earth. We are thousands of interacting systems that make our mental and physical health, a fine balance of many feedback loops keeping us as evolution has brought us to be. To keep our mother earth healthy we need to respect her, understand her balance, her interacting systems. We can start by doing minimal harm, by having the least impact we can. However, more than that, we need to understand what virtuous cycles are and how they are the same in principle as the feedback loops of the body, how by applying them to the way we care for our planet, our local environments, and each other we can truly start to build a better world.
"We need to evolve fewer centres of power, yet enhance cooperation and fraternity between nations. Put your faith in the common decency of the average man and woman, not those who parade for the glory of themselves. When we are all strong, we can have an earth we are all proud of no matter our origins, culture or faith."
We don't need a new world order. We don't need one world government. What we need to do is act like a family, one family of mankind, help one another, bring the most disadvantaged into health and wellbeing. We shouldn't be "shooting for the stars" until our home-world is healed. We are each other's priorities; we are our brother's keepers; we are the rightful custodians of Mother Earth.
But what if everyone chose “option B,” to stand up for what they know is right - to treat all life as sacred, respect the goodness in other cultures, buy nothing we don't really need, choose products with the lowest environmental impact on our planet, insist on ethical farming only, insist our farming feeds everyone nourishing food, buy the most ethical clothing you can afford, refuse to let the whole world burn so corporations and bankers can get rich.
We know bankers literally invent money for us to owe them, so why isn’t it legally mandated that all of the profits are spent in ways that benefit everyone - in renewable energy sources, public health care, education and public housing? Why do private companies get to invent money and keep the profits for themselves while we slave for it? It’s not their money, it comes from our labour, so the profits must benefit us all. Or are you still asleep? Are you only visiting me in your dreams? The thing is, right now, option B won’t cost you your life. It won’t cost you anything at all, it will literally give you the Earth, Our Earth, safe for us and our kids, our grandkids.
Option B means buying as much as possible from local and ethical sources. It means banking with an ethical co-op. It means going as close as you can to zero waste. It means supporting banking reform despite the scare tactics about “ruining” the economy. If banks turn all profits back to the communities they operate in, our local economies will boom. It means learning to see the mental shackles that bind you and that they are more insidious than iron cuffs and links of iron. The only links of iron we need are those of love between one another and to the gentle and loving Creator. There is nothing to fear and everything to gain, please open your eyes.
