This thanksgiving we kept things simple, desserts came from the store and we took it easy, spending quality time together, surfing the couch to movies and taking quiet strolls in the woodland.

We loved our thanksgiving sundaes. Ryan even made the ice-cream from fresh ingredients. I loved to add in brownie and top it with a bright red cherry. Being able to see all the layers through the glass brought a fission of joy. We ate them with long handled spoons and Tim always went on a fishing expedition for all his favourite flavours.

Thanksgiving desserts were simple, sweet and gooey. For us they weren't childhood memories because we didn't grow up that way. We are survivors of hardship, him and me. Yet for our children they will be sweet recollections as they grow older, happy memories of the times we celebrated together and were so very thankful for each other and the way we were able to live and thrive.
