We are so fascinated in our stories with our emergency services, of the people and the rescues, for this is the last vestige remaining of the sense of community we are all born to need. Humans survived as groups because they loved one another and cooperated as a group, we are emotionally hard-wired to need it. Without this, what are we? Without this and becoming more cooperative, can we survive? Other similar species died out because they didn't cooperate, is that a thing we can meditate on and learn from? Because I can hear sirens, can you?
