Our ecovillage is one tall building, part subterranean, so pretty in design and totally green. The technology boom we've had since the environment and global human health became our priority has been amazing. Once the need to make a profit in these areas was removed and resource allocation was made, we began to see real progress in sustainable living, in meeting the sustainability goals and exceeding expectations in record time.
Since the ecovillage is a complete unit capable of self sustaining in all areas, in pandemics each ecovillage locks-down rather than individual households and so the spread of disease is far more simple to stop.
The ecovillage isn't some hippy thing, it's a marriage of high tech and low tech, even some ancient tech - whatever brings the best results with fewest resources, with lowest ecological impact.
The ecovillages are interlinked, we travel often. Yet each develops a strong sense of community, of caring for each other, and each has it's own unique culture and specialisms it's known for.
We have an inter-ecovillage olympics every year, as highly evolved as we are in higher thought and emotional intelligence, we need that sense of competition and grit too. Plus we've added categories for other martial arts masters. Humans need fun; it keeps us in good health.
