Those marvels of creation, the algae, bloomed right there, grew right there in the ocean. If they had appeared at some almost twelfth hour as our solution from the stars we would have hailed them a miracle - often times the heroes we seek have been there all along yet overlooked toward whatever is more shiny.
Algae produce three hundred and thirty billion tonnes of oxygen per year - our technological future must go hand in hand with ecology, these are perfect "machines" of the ocean.
To harm the oceans is the work of lunatics, for we all need to breathe.
We called the algae a "mother species" because it did so much important nurturing work yet hardly ever received thanks nor mention.
When I see the slaughter of a dolphin or whale pod, the word that comes to my brain is "genocide." To my heart and soul they are as sentient as we humans, and this killing must stop. That we need them as part of our ecosystem, that without them the algae that makes 85% of our oxygen will begin to die, is the biological gun to the heads of all who "don't care." Sooner or later, biological science will make you care. Let's hope everyone starts to care in time.
