Looking back at those early days of 5G wifi, I guess it was obvious that some heavily invested in the old way of doing things would want to spread weird rumours about it. But every time folks do that, every time they make others that little bit dumber and meaner by spreading some self-serving lie - it shrinks the collective national brain capacity a little bit more. I think there comes a point in all that brain shrinkage when folks become as sort of zombie, consuming the thoughts, the brain output, of others without bringing any logical analysis or empathy to the matter themselves. Mob rule, world-war Z, cold hearted vampires willing to suck the life out of others so they can thrive... they're all the same thing to me. Plus, 5G is simply a stepping stone new technology before the next level of amazing gadgets. The future belongs to the brave for sure, yet also to those who think with both logic and heart.
Once the 5G wifi kicked in the download speeds were incredible, no waiting for anything. We got fully immersive and responsive entertainment. You could be your favourite movie character instead of simply watching them - a sort of choose your own adventure version with realistic outcomes. If you ever wondered how frightening it might be to actually live through the stuff in adventure or horror movies - hold onto you hats - because once you were in that flexible VR reality it was easy to believe that that was all there was.
A tool is a tool, it's what you do with it that counts and 5G technology and Wifi is just the same. I guess it would be obvious that the zombie-masters would be out there whipping up the heard, but it was disappointing nevertheless to see how many new zombies had been made. The irony of the zombies was thus laid bare, they were trying to make up for their own lack of cerebral capacity by "consuming" the brains of others instead of allowing the dysfunctional parts of their brains to shrink and growing better brains through hard work and effort. Just like a muscle, the brain only stays in shape if you workout regularly and with effort.
Perhaps with 5G we were seeing the limits of the current education system within current culture, the two of them so run down and depleted that the general population were closer to technologically enabled peasantry than an educated populous capable of higher ideals and morality. Any sufficiently socially dominant person could tell them anything with a paper-thin fig-leaf rationale and they'd not only believe it, but take it on as some sort of bastard religion.
We used a kind of special compression encryption that allowed a lot of data to be transmitted in a very small package. It was the TARDIS of the technology world. It also meant that you could get 5G speeds on the most basic of networks. Instead of revolutionising infrastructure we got more creative with compression algorithms.
