To reform our institutions, to transition from a money nexus to a love nexus society, takes time. This is because stability of society is of paramount importance. However, that said, because "time is lives" we also carry an onus to move with as much speed as is both pragmatic and judicious. An important first step is the hiring of people to roles of dual function. One part of their role is a regular part of that institution and the other is as an emotional intelligence buffer. If we think for a moment of chemistry, or biochemical buffering, we see that natural systems stay stable until they exceed a limit and then there is a sudden change for the worse. We can think of emotional ecosystems in institutions in the same way. The task staff who are emotional buffering agents is to keep the organisation within its emotional coping limits in times if challenge - which can be very frequent depending upon the nature of the organisation's societal function. In my lived experience, though such high emotional intelligence is naturally present in all societal groups and ethnicities, it is most profound in those of African decent. We humans, as a species, specialise and dedicate our brain functionality toward certain tasks. No person can be everything. We all need a little help. Often those brilliant at strategy, math or other academic tasks have had to "give up" a portion of their emotional intelligence to become so very good at what they bring to society. Thus, to bring organisations back into natural balance as emotional ecosystems, this step is necessary. Additionally, these roles need to be respected high value positions. Though this is a kind of institutional "mothering" or "parental" role, it needs real status and respect. It has been proven that empathy is required alongside logic for proper decision making, that both these parts of the prefrontal cortex need to be "lit up" to make good choices, thus policy makers do require this improvement to their working environment.
