Hiking for us wasn't about the destination, but about family bonding and appreciating nature. It was about the tickle fights and the games of catch. It was the best time for us all and those strong emotions of love have carried me though many a tough time.
The path of stone rises ahead in rugged perfection, the light playing over the grey as if it were the fingers of a pianist upon gentle keys.
Hiking was that time when we felt absorbed and welcomed into nature, when we entered her lungs and were given a deeper sense of wonder.
In the greenery of the trees is the salvation of the brain, a place to rest old thoughts and gain new perspectives. And so our footfalls become our heartbeat and our sight becomes a sense of wakeful dreaming.
